Serendipity is small restaurant on the upper east side. It is known for its desserts. They sell the most expensive dessert in the city, Frrozen Haute Chocolate and the 3rd most expensive in the world. This place is always crowded and always has a long wait line to get seated. U’s cousin is in town and she wanted to visit this place. Knowing how long the line is, she suggested making a reservation ahead of time and last sunday we stopped by to make one. We wanted to go there for lunch on Wednesday, but the earliest available opening was at 3 pm. Since we wanted to go there anyway, we made the reservation and decided to have a tea/dessert instead. We were there at sharp 3 pm and were seated right away. I ordered Frrrozen Hot Chocolate as that seems to be their most popular drink and my cousin ordered Pineapple Upside Down Cake Sundae. The serving size was huge and we could finish only half of the serving. Both the desserts were mind-blowing and I might add, loaded with calories!

When my frrrozen hot chocolate arrived I wasn’t sure whether to eat it or drink it! I first tried eating it and was a little disappointed. It tasted like hot chocolate! Nothing special! Than I drank it and that’s when I started to relish the drink! This drink is made with 14 different varieties of chocolates, I might also add I must try for a die-hard chocoholics!

I had read mixed reviews about their service and I must say, it took them forever to get us our check. But for that, it was a nice experience. If possible, do make a reservation ahead of time to avoid the ridiculously long wait line at the restaurant. If one wishes to try their desserts, I would suggest going there on an empty or at least half empty stomach. After eating these sinful desserts, the guilt took us over and we walked almost 4.5 miles that evening, to burn off at least some of the calories from those sinful treats
